How do I make a transaction with QRIS?

What is QRIS?
QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) is a digital payment feature standardized by Bank Indonesia, which allows you to make cashless payments easily. Through the Honest app, you can pay for transactions using QRIS at thousands of merchants across Indonesia and in several international locations, with just one standard QR code.
What are the types of QRIS payment?
QRIS has 2 types of payments:
- Scan/generate QR
A static QR is a QR that does not change and is displayed at the cashier/table, so the buyer scans it and manually inputs the amount. A dynamic QR, on the other hand, changes with every transaction and the amount is automatically filled, so the buyer only needs to scan. - Show QR (coming soon!)
You display the QR from your Honest app, and the merchant scans it. The QR is valid for one transaction only.
Where can I make transactions using QRIS with the Honest app?
You can make payments using QRIS at all merchants that provide QRIS payment methods. QRIS can be used for both online and offline payments. For offline payments, simply scan the QR code at the merchant's location, and for online payments, you can enter the payment details from the app.
How do I know if a merchant accepts QRIS?
Merchants who accept QRIS will display the QRIS logo or QR code in their store or on their checkout page. You can also directly ask the merchant if they accept QRIS.
Do QRIS transactions also earn Honest Points?
Currently, transactions using Honest QRIS do not earn Honest Point cashback. However, you can still get up to 1% cashback for online and card transactions.
Are there any extra fees for paying with QRIS?
There are no additional fees for QRIS payments made through the Honest app.
Is Honest QRIS available for international payments?
Currently, overseas transactions using Honest QRIS are not yet available.
What is the transaction limit for QRIS payments?
The transaction limit for QRIS payments is Rp10,000,000 (ten million Rupiah) per day and per transaction.
What should I do if a QRIS transaction fails or if the balance has already been deducted?
Sometimes, QRIS payments can fail even if the balance has been deducted. Some common reasons why this can happen are:
- Weak internet signal: An unstable internet connection can cause the transaction to fail.
- Insufficient credit limit: An inadequate balance or credit limit for the transaction can cause failure.
- Blurred or illegible QR code: A QR code that is unclear or blurred can cause the payment process to fail.
If your transaction fails but the balance has been deducted, here's what you can do:
- Check payment status: Check the payment status through the Honest app to ensure whether the transaction was successful or is still pending.
- Save proof of payment: If there was a deduction, save the proof of payment for reference.
