How do I authenticate transaction with in-app 3DS?

To use in-app 3DS, make sure you:

  • “Enable Notification” on your device settings for Honest app. You will receive push notification on your device with Honest app installed.
  • Update your Honest app to the latest version

In-app 3DS authentication occurs directly through the Honest app makes your online transactions:

  • Faster – no delays; confirm instantly in the app.

  • More reliable – not dependent on your mobile signal or carrier.

Note: Even if you change your mobile number and haven’t updated it in the Honest app, you can still make transactions. A great added benefit!

What should I do if authentication fails?

If your transaction fails after confirming in Honest app, it might be because:

  • You took too long to approve the transaction and the transaction has timeout
  • You attempted too many times without successfully confirming a transaction. We may have blocked your account for security reasons.
  • You rejected/declined too many times. We may have blocked your account for security reasons.

What to do if I didn't receive the push notification?

  • Make sure push notifications are enabled for the Honest app in your device settings.
  • Tap “Resend notification” on the merchant site.
  • If you still don’t get it, open the Honest app, you’ll be redirected to the authentication screen automatically.

While in-app 3DS is designed to be secure, a few factors can affect your experience:

  • Weak internet signal may prevent notifications from appearing.
  • The Honest app isn’t updated to the latest version.
  • Temporary network or payment gateway issues.

If you don’t recognize the transaction, follow these steps to stay safe:

  1. Tap “I didn’t make this transaction”.
  2. Choose “Lock my card” immediately.
  3. Please reach out to us to report this issue, as your card could be at risk!

Note: Only approve transactions that you initiate in the Honest app. If someone asks you to open the app and approve a transaction you didn't start, do not do it!

How can I make an online transaction if I don’t have the Honest app?

For in-app 3DS, you’ll need the Honest app to verify and complete the payment. This extra step helps keep your account safe and protects you from fraudulent transactions.

Are there any extra fees for this feature?

No, Honest does not charge any additional fees for in-app 3DS authentication. You’ll only pay the transaction amount as usual. If there are any fees, they come from the merchant or platform, not from Honest.
